Refuge 1:99

Matthew 18:12 - "If a man has a hundred sheep and one of them wanders away, what will he do? Won't he leave the ninety-nine others on the hills and go out to search for the one that is lost?"

Human trafficking is a form of modern slavery that occurs when one person exerts control over another person in order to exploit them economically. In this scenario, the victim is controlled through manipulation, violence, or the threat of violence and cannot walk away.

Sex trafficking occurs when anyone under the age of 18 is forced into a sexual act and in adults who are controlled through manipulation, violence, or drugs.

Ohio is in the top 5 states in the country for reported human trafficking incidents to the national hotline. The list includes in order: California, Texas, Florida, Ohio and New York.

The recovery process for human trafficking victims is not easy and healing takes time, but human life is worth the effort. This is why Women In The Word Ministries opened a long-term adult residential safe house.

Refuge 1:99 is a safe environment for recovery and healing. We offer long term residential treatment for adult women.
